Corporate Consulting Services-Public Companies
Traditional IR/PR firms for publicly traded companies utilize staffs of anywhere from 30-200 individuals, usually without a business management background, sitting in cubicles, cold calling on brokers across the country, attempting to persuade those brokers to buy stock in one of their client companies. Most will accept any company as a client, as long as they're getting paid. They don't ordinarily have to have fundamentals, disruptive technology, the potential for their company to survive as a public entity, or legitimate grounds for appreciation of their stock price. Their check just needs to clear. Borders does a complete background check on the company, it's officers individually, their management team, and largest shareholders. Once that has been cleared, we talk to seasoned veteran financial advisors, money managers, fund managers and analysts with expertise in that space, to determine the viability of the potential client. Only after the company passes a "deep dive" audit of all these factors do we engage the client. We ordinarily contract with that client for a minimum of 6 months, and our compensation is a mix of cash payments and restricted stock of the client company. We don't accept S-8 stock based compensation, which is free trading the day it is issued, which eliminates the temptation to "pump and dump" the company's stock for our own financial gain, leaving our network to be "bagholders". We pride ourselves on initial and ongoing due diligence to insure our network is making intelligent, well informed investments. We carry no licensing, Series 7 or otherwise, and don't provide investment advice, we provide a wealth of experience in dealing with publicly traded companies, and therefore introduce clients we accept to our network, with the intention of building for our clients a knowledgeable, savvy shareholder base. In our contract is a requirement of our client to provide their DTC's, NOBO and OBO lists, allowing us to identify and eliminate manipulation, naked short selling, and any other type of trading that would be considered illegal, either by individuals, groups, firms, and even the market makers themselves. We have an extremely successful track record with regard to our client engagements, and our network has grown exponentially as a result. Nobody gets it right 100% of the time, and sometimes unforeseen events can affect the fundamentals of any given company or sector, and we not only learn from our few mistakes, but utilize the information to make better informed decisions going forward in a constant effort to improve our research and readiness.
